The Devil All the Time

The Devil All the Time ★★½

Overlong and chock full of a miserablism so thick that it borders on the absurd, even if it does rightfully attack the cancer that is organized religion. Notable perhaps for nothing beyond the sheer quantity of non-Americans playing Americans here. As my mind wandered during its infinite runtime, I began to wonder whether somebody counted how many Brits and Aussies were wandering around the set, then saw a Swede to break the camel's back and said, "Quick! Get me Elvis Presley's granddaughter so we can get some America in there!"
