Week 40: a movie set in a different time period
I think this has THE greatest use of the single
f-bomb that PG-13 movies are allowed to drop.
Jojo Rabbit does a great job at having lots of funny moments, but not to the point where they get in the way when the film wants to take a more serious tone. Honestly, it's an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Wholesome and funny at one point, then traumatic, then wholesome and funny again, then do it all over again. My only real criticism is that sometimes the transition between tones could be a bit jarring, resulting in a metaphorical whiplash of sorts. But that's just me nitpicking, it was great all around.
Oh and shoutout to Yorki for delivering some of the funniest lines in the film.
