  • Interview with the Vampire

    Interview with the Vampire 1994

    ★★★★ Watched by kat🕷 31 Mar 2023 2

The conflict between the desire for absolute power and immortality, for the price of being unable to see the sun and needing the blood of the living to live.
There‘s so much in it: seduction and greed, lust and destruction, fear vs. power, dependency vs. freedom..

I'm also in love with the great scenery, the morbid landscape of Louisiana and the architecture of the 18th/19th century in the Southern States.

I think that I can only describe this as a fascinating mess. This was confusing, weird, and intriguing all at the same time and I think the fact that it’s so bizarre is what makes it worth a viewing if you’re a horror fan. Unfortunately I do think it’s a failed attempt at a sequel, and I’m glad I watched it, but I probably would not watch it again :((

also Stanley Kubrick apparently turned down the offer to direct this film which I think is interesting! I wonder how different it would’ve been?!

SNL totally wasted Kyle Mooney. Holy shit, never knew he was capable of half of this.  A beautiful movie about the ability filmmaking has to bring people together in unexpected ways. Sure, we’ve seen that before, but it’s done here in a unique enough way and with such a lovable cast that you just can’t help but love it.

    MINOR SPOILERS:
Mark Hamill is maybe too likable here? Like, with the kidnapping of our main character I should hate him,…

    Happy 35th Birthday!! 🎪🪱💃🏽👻🏚️🪦

Completely crazy characters and bizarre ideas. It's absolutely not creepy, but has a lot of charme. Michael Keaton as a wonderfully ragged, overexcited spook. A celebration of aesthetic & acoustic atrocities.

    Comfort movie forever <3

I love this movie so much. It's a nice thought that humans would have that kind of reaction to contact with UFOs \ Aliens. Unfortunately the truth is we would just try to bomb them out of the sky ☹️.

Needed something to do while I let my room air out, then a discussion of John Wick 4 came about and I knew exactly what to do.

Could have been a good Simpsons episode conceptually. But I don't need Hellraiser as a teen slasher. 1,5 and a half star for Henry Cavill.

The plotline is just bad and far from being realistic. The songs can't be called a masterpiece either, maybe except the last one. Very superficial and is not worth of the second watch.

    Michael J. Chadwick

    ★★★ Watched by Michael J. Chadwick 18 Mar 2023

An entertaining superhero action movie that does everything you've come to expect and nothing more.

There's plenty of action, humour, special effects and even a little bit of teen drama in this plot straight out of Greek mythology.

It looks good and a lot is going on, but it's predictable and nothing stands out as spectacular, making it a bit boring towards the end.

Good acting with some fun cameos, but it didn't grab me as the first one did.

Hi everyone, this movie was recommended to me by @Zanderific, I'll leave a link to his account at the end of the review.

Well Holy Shit, this was amazing! The last thing I expected from this movie would be that it's the closest we ever get to Live Action Bojack Horseman! Which if you look at my Top 4 you'd know it's my favourite piece of media ever, this movie just has the same absurd yet tragic energy with the…
