Couldn't have found a better film to log for my 100th this year. What took me so long to finally watch this awesome piece of filmmaking?
Frances Ha is a typical witty Baumbach film, but it's probably his most charming one. And while it's narratively meandering, it's certainly not aimless. The film ruminates on some of the most important life questions facing everyone after college and it's just painfully relatable! But no matter how frustrating life can be, just don't forget that scene where Greta Gerwig runs and dances her way through the NYC streets with elegance and a care-free attitude. That woman is a charmer.
What a smart title too.
