Spider-Man: Far from Home

Spider-Man: Far from Home ★★★★½

Hell yea

This is easily one of my new favorite MCU movies.  The high school euro-trip is a nice comedic backdrop while also keeping it running smoothly and vibrantly and providing some of the most interesting settings (Rome, Prague, etc.) for giant superhero battles I’ve ever seen. Also, it’s refreshingly visually adventurous and has some of the coolest and craziest sequences of the entire MCU

Seeing Mysterio on the big screen has been a dream of mine for a while now, and I didn’t leave disappointed.  He’s used perfectly throughout, and Gyllenhaal kills the role.  Another highlight is the chemistry between Holland and Zendaya, which is just the right mix between awkward and endearing.  Pretty much the whole cast is fantastic, as expected

It’s a fitting and superb post-Endgame film, choosing to do its own thing in a unique standalone way while still managing the realism and grief of the aftermath

I wish JB Smoove was one of my high school teachers
