"ugh horror movies suck"
VFG31 • Day 25
Although this movie is incredibly tame by today's standards, it really defined a new generation of horror - this was THE movie at the time it came out, no matter how divided audiences were. I was 12 when I first saw this, and was terrified but watching it over a decade later, parts of it comes off as laughably bad. Still it's got a charm to it that makes it for a strangely comforting watch. Some of the scares still hold up really well, even if it's execution is pretty simple.
VFG31 • Day 24
Disturbing but insightful body movie about those at the edge of society, wrapped up into a tragic tale of a woman caught up in a world so far from her own. I wanted to watch this as I thought it was going to be a gore-fest but there wasn’t as much as I anticipated, which I kind have preferred. It was a morbid, but strangely empowering movie that definitely deserves the praise that it gets.
VFG31 • Day 20
I still hate that I don’t find this scary at all but it’s such an emotionally resonant movie about triumph and overcoming evil that you can’t help but find it satisfying to watch. Great characterisation, imagery and score, but don’t think I’ll ever understand the insane hype that this movie gets.
