The Worst Person in the World

first of all, the lead looks more like kate lyn sheil than dakota johnson. justice for mumblecore’s leading lady

second of all, i liked it! but i felt like there was a coldness that prevented me from loving it. i’m a lost mess just like julie, but i never felt like i related to her or her issues. obvi, i don’t need this cater to my exact feelings, but i’ve seen so many people identify w the film and i…

  • Spencer

i'm gonna preface this by saying i am not a diehard princess diana fan nor am i someone who insists on biopics being 100% accurate. i think liberties should be taken if that means a story could be better told.

as a film about a princess stuck in a loveless marriage and abusive institution, SPENCER is a good film. as a biopic of princess diana, it's one of the most insulting movies i have ever seen. at the beginning, a…

    Nowhere Special

i spent the entire movie with my mask wet because i could not fucking stop crying. if i still rated things on here, this would be my first film to get five stars on a first viewing in years. my god, what a film.

seeing carrie coon dance and jude law constantly lie on the big screen was literally a religious experience

today marks one year since lynn shelton died and i still can't really wrap my head around that or express how much she means to me, so i'll just say this: i love her and i miss her and i am so happy she shared her empathy, talent, and vision with the world. thank you, lynn <333

  • The Father

    The Father

the way this dealt with memory, putting us in anthony's position, making us believe smth in one scene - what his daughter looks like, the painting hanging in the living room etc. - and then presenting us with another reality, is simply sublime. it feels like maybeeee i should rewatch it to properly appreciate it, but even so, i'm gonna think about it for the longest time.

  • Fargo

FARGO the tv show at its weakest is better than most shows at their best. FARGO the show is also better at its weakest than most movies are at their best and i'm including the original movie, too. i should love this because i love the coens, smart thrillers, dark humour, and this cast, but for some reason, i can't. it's been seven years since i first saw it and my opinion still stands: good, but overrated. i'm sorry!

  • WandaVision

it had potential for an interesting story about love, grief, trauma, and mourning but instead, it's just another marvel shit show!

    (justice for fox's quicksilver)

i just know that if john cassavetes were alive, he would HATE this <3

  • Mank

i'm leaving this ratingless for the time being because i took a LONG break halfway through to declutter my room, but i loved it. couldn't really vibe with the weird age gaps (i don't usually mind them, but why were gary oldman and amanda seyfried playing characters born ten months apart?), but everything else is *chef's kiss*. i def need to rewatch it one day so i can give it the respect it deserves. god, i miss having an attention span that lasts for longer than one vine

  • Promising Young Woman

    Promising Young Woman

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

i almost never review films and if i do i never write smth long, but god, i need to do it for this because i have Thoughts™ (spoilers ahead, unless you read The Thread™)

i didn't like this and quite frankly, i don't understand how anybody can look at this and like it. it's a candy colored rape revenge film, smth meant to be #empowering and to make viewers #fightlikeagirl, but underneath it, it's rotten. there's venom directed at the…
