Watched at the central cinema in 4K. 40 years on and the movie is hardly showing it’s age. The anamorphic lenses and the contrast between the deep blues and the magentas still make this a fantastic looking movie when there isn’t a horrific gore monster biting a man’s head off
Really REALLY funny, tender and nostalgic, beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and the wildly inappropriate age gap didn't end up being as massive of a hurdle to the enjoyability of this movie as I anticipated! Still really weird tho!
I'm halfway through but I'm confident the movie isn't getting any better than two stars. Will update the score if it gets worse. The editing and directing are both atrocious. Jared Leto's goofy stride is so unnatural it's obnoxious. This is a MESS.
Not the MOST engaging movie I've ever seen but the soundtrack is pretty damn great and the story builds to an excellent final showdown. The soundtrack itself even seems to come to a perfect resolution in the final minutes of the movie, that shit slapped.
