"really, really wanted there to have been somebody else's kid in that dam, or a runaway, a murder victim... just anybody else's. just as long as it wasn't my kid. just as long as it wasn't alice."

everyone who knows me knows this is my favourite film by now, i never stop talking about it; and even if some of my friends and many others online disagree, this is a beyond perfect film. i just can't comprehend how lake mungo…

6th time watching this seriously perfect film. i hadn't seen it for over two years but it hasn't left my mind for a moment since. surprising how many people seem to have seen this film on letterboxd (and how many people dislike it wtf), because i haven't met or seen a single, one person who has ever spoken about or even heard of this movie. i feel like im watching a gorgeous sunset on a beach that no one has…

hearing scottish accents and traditional celtic music in a disney film is enough for me. sure the story is a little predictable and generic but it sticks to the structures of the legends it lifts from and does exactly what it sets out to do. plus, at the end of the day, it's just very touching.

it's the 90s, you can't see a damn thing, there's a giant cgi bug flying through a subway station and marco beltrami is going ham on the score, life is good. the practical effects and creature designs are unreal i love how they look. the darkness works in their favour for most of the film but when it gets to the finale you're just like "oh my god i can't believe.. wait the... or.. what is that... who is that... hold on why is t- is that doug jones??"

been waiting for this for so long, had to watch it as soon as it released. didn't disappoint!! camila mendes and maya hawke are brilliant, i love them. the colours pop in all of the production design and costuming. i really liked how it was written, never felt audacious or out there like. absolutely love the soundtrack as well, each song is a banger. you play muna? im intrigued. you play pom pom squad? im sold. you end the film…

clicked on the version prime has in its catalogue, heard that horrendous rock song and saw those horrendous credits, thought maybe it'd be best to have a try on youtube. then realised the version prime has is over 20 minutes shorter, so idk what the fuck they've got going on.

settled on an upload that has the film in its stunning original colours (wooo!!!!) but sadly has a god-awful…
