Weird that I've seen 4 of the sequels but not the actual Nightmare on Elm Street, I know.
The thing I love about classic slashers, in and out baby, 90 minutes. Don't waste my time I'm already buying it's a child molester that kills you in your dreams. Has some strong set pieces for a low budget affair, but lacks the extravagant kills and Freddy quips that the franchise is remembered for.
Shockingly coherent for a slasher of the era. I actually really enjoy the plotting, probably my favorite of the big 3 franchises. Sorry Halloween.
