Lawrence Denes’s review published on Letterboxd:
A beautifully animated, well-acted movie of a very, very typical unoriginal J-drama story. Not to say that it was bad--I definitely enjoyed it from beginning to end. I just don't get why it's getting SO MUCH praise. There's nothing new here. Nothing surprising. If you've seen any amount of Japanese dramas or romance anime (or Korean, for that matter), then you should know already that everything in here is pretty much par for the course. The animation and voice acting is what really saves it from being mediocre.
