Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Hunt for the Wilderpeople ★★★★

This was pretty fun! Genuinely funny and touching, Hunt for the Wilderpeople probably is one the funniest movie of the year. I really don't get how most of Hollywood comedies need to be vulgar and dumb and usually end up not being funny. This movie is funny because of its witty humour, its characters and its direction. The chemistry between Sam Neil and the Julian Dennison helps a lot and every moments with those two are pure joy. Rachel House as the "social services" equivalent of Moonrise Kingdom also gets her fair share of good lines. The movie is also touching by moments; a nice blend of humour and emotion. And how about that cinematography? Spiritual successor to The Lord of the Rings as a tourism ad for New Zealand. Damn it looks good. I also loved that accent. Overall, this is a really good movie. I had a big smile on my face for the entire runtime; that's my kind of humour
