liked this more than Scream 5, feels like the use of the city was hugely beneficial to the tension in the movie. The actors are much more confident and comfortable in their roles.

Good movie! However, can we drop that one particular subplot? it's probably the worst thing about these two movies.

It's awesome, I think the film does a great job highlighting the themes of throughout the Rocky franchise and framing it onto Adonis and to an extent Dame. Both lead actors are electric, Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad give really strong performances too.

Really enjoyed the way that MBJ showed the bond that these two had even years after. A strong directorial debut.

    Final fight was awesome

I did miss the Rocky theme, but I think that it's important for the character to also have that distance from Rocky.

    Man.
You know how there's always someone you know that thinks they are an expert on a topic after reading one wikipedia article? that's this movie.

I won't lie, I liked the trailer of this movie and was looking forward to it pre-drama. The drama was just a nice little add on but I didn't realize how simple and reductive this movie was going to be.

Wilde has done herself no favors, calling this movie one of female pleasure given…

The first two acts of this movie are fantastic! Funny, great performances all throughout! It's an incredible work and offers genuine social critiques that make you engage in a conversation. However, when the satire goes off the fucking rails, primarily in the third act, it's easy to feel disengaged and confused? When the ending arrives it feels unearned but everything else is done so well that it kinda makes it a moot point!

TL;DR-aside from some weird shit towards the end this is a helluva good time.
