The indestructible series continues. Nothing can prevent another Fast and Furious movie from descending upon us, so we might as well just sit back and let it engulf us, yet again. By this point, it feels really great to be able to revisit these familiar characters yet again. There's something comfortable and reliable about this series, in that it keeps popping back up every so often, and pushing the envelope further and further each time. Big dumb fun like this is why popcorn was invented. 🍿🚗🍿
I wasn't planning to see this, it was a last minute decision. Therefore, I knew nothing about the plot or the cast, so when familiar faces from previous movies kept showing up, it was a surprise, for sure. When two characters get launched into space in a car, my eyeballs surely rolled, but then again, what else should a viewer expect from the ninth installment from these guys? It's crazy, but you roll with it. Science and plausibility need not apply.
It's mission is to entertain, and it truly chugs along at a non-stop and fun pace. If you're looking for a realistic approach, this series left all that behind several sequels back. It knows what it is, and delivers.
