Happiest Season

Happiest Season ★★★★

There will be no in depth analysis of this from me. It was designed to be bright and bubbly Christmas entertainment, and that's exactly what it is. Yes, it's one of the first ever lesbian Christmas movies, but it's how a movie makes you feel that's most important. Happiest Season makes you feel all those cozy Christmasy feels, but with a small side order of acceptance and family disfunction.

This cast is more than the usual Christmas movie could ever hope for. Dan Levy, Kristen Stewart, Mary Steenburgen and Aubrey Plaza, all together in one movie seems like an overabundance of which we're unworthy of, but we'll take it.

Mary Holland as Jane nearly steals the show, where did this person come from? Next Christmas, I want a Jane spinoff movie, or maybe an adaptation of her book.

Not a message movie, well, okay, it is, but just a little. It's really another warm and fuzzy family Christmas comedy, a very enjoyable one.
