  Did I just watch a Marvel movie?

  Let me think for a minute...there was an exploding head, a Cumberbatch zombie, ultra trippy images, super subtle breaks of the fourth wall, a sympathetic villain with a comprehensible motive, blood, someone who got evaporated, someone who got...whatever you would call what Scarlet Witch did to Reed...and actual consequences for messing with the dark side?

  Nope, sorry, couldn't have been a Marvel movie. This was way better.

  Watched this because a friend told me he "loooooved" this movie when he was younger.

  Well, I guess, that's just it. For a younger audience it's a beautiful fairytale. For everybody older than 10, it's an aweful long, incredibly boring story with an annoyingly stupid Broderick and a score straight from hell. Seriously, who thought this upbeat pop music would be fitting for something set in Medievil times?

  Michelle Pfeiffer is angelic! Her presence saves this from being a disaster.

  I love a good time-loop story. I love weird, over-brutal deaths. I love action that is grounded in emotion. I love old beard-man Mel Gibson as the bad guy. I love Frank Grillo's.....everything.

  Rocky IV 1985

  Wow! There is nothing left of the quiet drama. There is no character depth. The walk-in of Apollo has as much to do with boxing as your grandmother with a line of cocaine (I hope). Rocky who single-handedly brings down the Iron Curtain is questionable to say the least. The antagonist is a shallow and one-sided cardboard cutout of the evil Russian.

  But God, it's fun!
