Leesah Sea’s review published on Letterboxd:
Paul Thomas Anderson has made a wonderfully beautiful film. A film that will be ageless for many decades to come. With suburb acting from Daniel Day Lewis and Vicky Krieps, Phantom Thread was an utter joy to watch.
If this is DDL's last film, he certainly has left the film world on a very high note. We all know that DDL is a fantastic actor (one of the best). But man, who is this Vicky Krieps? She was able to match him from moment to moment throughout the entire movie. I hope we get to see her again in more films.
It seemed like most of the scenes where Daniel Day Lewis was standing, the camera shots were coming from below which made him seem incredibly tall. It added to the sense of Reynold's Woodcock being the one in charge, the one setting the rules that all others must abide by.
Like all Paul Thomas Anderson films, I think Phantom Thread will keep getting better with each re-watch. This will definitely be considered a masterpiece for years to come.
