SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY is that, just a story. Everyone walking into this movie know that Han Solo and Chewie are going to survive whatever death defying mission they're about to embark on. Because of that, there are no real stakes. This is solely a movie for entertainment purposes. A simple story explaining how Han Solo became who he was in the actual real Star Wars movies.
There were no real acting performances that stood out. They were all fine. The story was fine. It was entertaining enough that for 135 minutes I was with these characters. Could it have been shorter? Maybe? It really didn't feel long to me and it definitely didn't feel painfully long.
This is a movie that didn't need to be made. But it was and I was entertained for a bit. It's clearly not what one would normally expect from Star Wars movie but I knew that going in and was able to just sit back and be entertained.
