The latest from Sean Baker is a foray into America's "homelessness". The movie follows Moonie, a six-year old girl, and her friends during their summer break. These are kids who don't have homes. Their families live in motels where they pay the rent by the week.
This was so wonderfully done that it didn't feel like a movie…it felt more like we were watching cameras as they followed these kids around. It felt so real.
The acting was fantastic…which is really something to say when there were so many child actors involved. Brooklynn Prince who plays "Moonie" was a real star in this. Great job! And Willem Dafoe was fantastic as well.
