Imagine if this didn't have that stupid taped on bond origin, people would realize how awesome it is. Feels like Indiana Jones meets From Russia With Love in places.
The master of gangster epics or possibly film in general is back with interiors so intricately shot the mold in the shaggy rugs, stale cigarette smoke and aged spirits are in the theatre with you.
Everyone will talk about the performances and rightfully so but those fucking interiors, they're alive. Go out of your way and see it theatrically.
The X-Men's themes of racism, social inequality, genocide and man's hatred of the unknown have always fascinated me even as a child. Logan, Xavier, Erik, Scott, Jean these characters I've always deeply connected with, the same way people love guys like iron man or thor which I never have.
Maybe I'm incredibly bias or just want different things from general audiences with comic book films. That's probably guaranteed as I wanted to claw my eyes out during the new MCU…
Visceral, aggressive, like being hit over the head for two hours with a sledgehammer. In other words, amazing. The only lulls were when the movie tried to invoke sympathy for the characters, unfortunately that doesn't work when a movie is two hours of mayhem with about ten lines of dialogue. All in all better than the classic films and incredibly refreshing to see an action blockbuster take so many risks.
