My body is ready.
Thank god I don’t need heart surgery anytime soon, if not ever.
Pretty good thriller with some intense moments and gnarly medical gore. Say what you want about the guy, but I find this to be one of Hayden Christiansen’s better performances, and the rest of the cast including Alba, Howard, and Stevens also deliver strong work as well. Love to see my guy Christopher McDonald in it also. Definitely worth checking out, especially since it packs a lot in its short 84 minutes.
“Welcome to Chapterhouse.”
This movie sucks. Should I just end it here?
I watched this a few months back, and I was going to write a review, but it felt pointless to do so for such a lackluster film. However, since then I changed my mind for multitude of reasons;
1. The urge all of a sudden came out of nowhere to write this.
2. Ralphthemoviemaker’s recent review of the film gave me motivation and reminded why I didn’t like…
Just finished watching what may be the best tv show of the year. Frank’s writing/direction is tight and intelligent, Taylor-Joy delivers an incredible performance as a chess prodigy coming of age, and the supporting cast is great too. In particular I liked Bill Camp as Beth’s quiet, Mr. Miyagi-type teacher, and Marielle Heller (who proves that she works well on the both sides of the camera) as her hard-drinking yet supportive adopted mother.
It’s funny, I think I want to play more chess after watching this. ♟
