Daughters of Darkness

Daughters of Darkness ★★★½

#8 for my 21-day challenge - boxd.it/baiqG

A movie of its era that looks amazing -I watch the recent 4k Blue Underground original 35mm restoration- and feels sensual all the way.
The slow pace and innuendo contribute to the experience which predominantly is visual telling the story with little gestures and a lot of white, black and red.
Francois De Robaix’ soundtrack deserves extra mention as that is a driver over the simple mono early 70s sound staging.
Unfortunately, there are flaws and my main concern was the acting: because only Delphine Seyrig delivers the other were flaky at best.

A well-documented Belgian cult classic that probably has more love abroad ten at home; someone should start rehabilitating this domestically.
