Emma.

Emma.

i read the book and ever since i started it i’ve been craving a rewatch of the film because i was sure I’d enjoy it even more than i did in the cinema now that i have a better understanding of the story. its no secret that sometimes you watch a period film and you’re like… what are all these words. you’re all being so politely vague. like i can’t translate fast enough to really enjoy the story… but it sure is pretty! so it’s nice to watch after reading the book and having the chance to actually digest the story as fast or slow as you wish. i mean you could watch the movie and just pause it every 5 minutes to take notes of what just occurred in every scene but thats maybe a bit much. and you obviously can’t do that in the cinema. unless you’re a public menace who happens to work at the cinema. which is what i used to be. i kinda miss those days. anyway! im rambling. but i very much enjoyed the book and implore anyone interested to read it, was surprised by how… not boring I found it. as much as i appreciate the themes and characters it can be a trek reading stuff like austen and i personally found pride and prejudice to be A Trek, but somehow emma was not! I think I just connected more with emma herself than with any of the characters in P&P, so i actually found it a real page-turner. I would be interested to know which austen characters you guys connect most to if any… but anyway x2, good film!! very pretty indeed! but also good! I’ll shut up
