Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

So, my boyfriend has indeed decided to force these films upon me and watch my reaction.. I don’t think there’s much I could say about this that hasn’t likely already been said a thousand times, cause I know I’m so late to the game and these are a big subject of.. discourse? I guess. But man, I will say the design of so many characters in this film is just so wildly off-putting it makes it genuinely hard to concentrate…

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Confession time.. this is one of the Star Wars things that just went right over my head. I'm a fairly casual Star Wars enjoyer, and I remember my brother seeing it in the cinema and telling me not to bother and me at 16 just listened to him. You know how you used to just blindly listen to your brother? What was that? I did and didn't watch so many things based on his instruction when I was a teenager.…

  • John Wick: Chapter 4

    John Wick: Chapter 4

    What a riot

  • Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Hard not to watch this film and just go look there’s a dungeon! And there’s a dragon! But look they’re displaying honour!! Oh but wait a minute they’re THIEVES!!! I need to lie down!

  • Man Up

    Man Up

Weird thing, I wanted to watch the silence of the lambs tonight but I searched every streaming service and it wasn’t on any of them, and whilst doing that I came across this film and remembered my boyfriend recommended it to me a few months ago as a decent modern romcom suggestion, so I give it a go and within the first four minutes of the film the main character watches the silence of the lambs on her hotel room…

well. it’s good to cry every once in a while

  • The Kid Detective

    The Kid Detective

I love this film. There’s a simplicity to it I just really enjoy. Even though it’s such a bag of mixed emotions.. there’s just a lack of monkey business going on. And I love the score, it’s one of the scores I listen to as I go about my day sometimes because it makes me feel better about being a person who is alive and going about their day. You know how having a film score on in your earphones feels like it kind of justifies your existence? Anyway. Really recommend this one!

    Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

okay. what the hell was going on here?

  • Titanic

    Titanic

My friend and I were supposed to be in work tonight but it had to close due to a ā€˜technical difficulty’ so yeah, we went to see the titanic re-release. I guess you could say we know how to make the most of a Saturday night off. You know you really forget how much this bangs… as soon as the screen went black the older lady behind us went ā€œthat was a cracker wonnitā€ and as funny as it was…

  • Knock at the Cabin

    Knock at the Cabin

A moderately fun time with friends, as expected, but unfortunately something that I don’t feel extends very far beyond its trailer. Some good performances and some kind of memorable moments. Not a fan of the opening credits font… which is of course always my biggest disappointment. I’m not too experienced with Shyamalan to be honest so when it comes to people on the web arguing up down right and left about his films, which they seem to do every time…

  • The Worst Person in the World

The Worst Person in the World

You guys weren't kidding about this one... I really enjoyed that. I always appreciate characters who move spontaneously, chaotically, undecidedly from one passion to another, one idea of their life to another ..... as if they have all the time in the world to decide how to spend their life even though they're simultaneously fully aware that time is fleeting and their life is actually, right now, as we speak, being spent, fast, with every second and minute and hour…

  • The Fabelmans

    The Fabelmans

I don’t know. I wouldn’t say I necessarily disliked it… but I can’t see myself ever watching this again. So for that reason I’m not sure I’d really mean it if I heartedĀ it. It has a lot of good things going for it, I think it’s shot beautifully, the music is great, Michelle Williams is Michelle Williams, but I guess I just don’t feel thatĀ glad to have spontaneously gone and seen it tonight (dragging my friend along with me), I…
