I don’t quite understand what the justified making this. I get it is supposed to signify how the world has changed since the ending events of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM. But that was already established with the closing scenes of that movie: dinosaurs are now part of the commonplace. Something that this franchise had been toying with since the original movie came out. While the execution is good, the visuals effects are solid for a short, and the cast is somewhat engaging for the time we got to be with them, but the overall point is still completely lost on me.
And that’s saying something since I am a huge fan of this franchise, and have been excited for a follow-up since I walked out of the theater for FALLEN KINGDOM. This just didn’t seem like a grand enough event to get people who are not excited about this franchise, or the people who do not like the direction this series is going in to get excited. It just feels like a cut sequence from another film, and they just repurposed it for the sake of it.
