Levi’s review published on Letterboxd:
ok many thoughts head full: i fucking love the book so i had very high expectations but this really was uhh not hitting the bar! i think it could have been amazing, i loved the cinematography, the music, boris, the atmosphere. but all that was ruined by the awful time jumps & editing & awkward dialogue. i’m so mad they chopped this thing up, why god wasn’t this in chronological order?? none of the beats hit as intended because of all these weird flash backs & flash forwards ahh idk i was frustrated. i can see a genuine, good movie in this but sadly it fell flat for me when the book really means a lot. s/o androgynous slavic bette davis finn wolfhard
