Do we ever really know the ones we love?
Gorgeous meditation on the tangle of joy and despair. Mescal gives a fantastically low-key performance as a man grappling with the life he had, the life he has, and the life he never will. Wells’ approach to the narrative is really great, melding existential and familial drama masterfully. Beautiful and wonderfully melancholy. Really does get better the more you think about it.
