At the end of the day, I just never really felt attached enough to Kafuku’s struggles to want to spend three hours with him. There are some really powerful scenes and some good metaphors, but the delivery overall felt inefficient and I lost patience from the pacing a couple of times. I normally enjoy slow burns but just couldn’t connect here. Oh well, on to the next one.
