    Memories of Murder

An incredibly made thriller with some great use of music and some outstanding performances from pretty much the entire cast. The story is interesting to follow along as these well written characters try to solve a seemingly impossible mystery. The cinematography is really good with there being some interesting usage of water and saturation. Bong knows exactly how to create a engaging story with both dramatic, comedic, and somber moments mixed together.

  • Heima

I honestly would avoid watching Heima if you’re not already a fan of Sigur Rós as this documentary basically just shows the band playing an album’s worth of songs. Throughout the film, a major focus is put on Icelandic imagery and, while some of editing is noticeably choppy, it creates a pretty engaging experience overall.

    The Devil All the Time

Antonio Campos’s newest film, The Devil All the Time is an extremely well paced film with a unique view on religion and its effects on people of all kind. In this film, Campos focuses on multiple different characters living through their own trials and tribulations, each of them intertwined with each other.

The story, albeit not very challenging, had some really well deserved payoffs as well as some interesting reincorporation throughout the film. Many of the characters presented all have…
