    A Thousand Words

Saw this in the theater when it released. Liked it then, like it now. Eddie Murphy is great as always, but especially works well for this movie because he’s so expressive with his face, as he’s always been. The script is nothing special, but it’s cozy and funny enough that its a wonderful time throughout. Nothing more, I suppose. I’ll just never understand the universal hate this film gets. Jack Nicholson forever immortalized himself with this role. It makes total sense why. He’s absolutely mesmerizing in this movie — terrifying, too. It’d still be pretty good, but Nicholson is the element that brings this thing to another level. Nicholson’s stare in this film looks like it’s from the Devil himself and it scares the absolute shit out of me.
