SUMMER, SUN, OPEN AIR CINEMA FRANKFURT

SUMMER, SUN, FRANKFURT
THE OPEN-AIR CINEMA FRANKFURT MAKES CINEMA DREAMS COME TRUE!

As in last year's extremely successful season, the FREILUFTKINO FRANKFURT is once again making a guest appearance on the grounds of the old Frankfurt police headquarters. From July 8 on, current audience favorites and cinematic highlights from all over the world can be seen there. Films such as the two impressive dramas SUPERNOVA from Great Britain and SUMMER 85 from France, the original tragicomedy KAJILLIONAIRE by US multimedia artist Miranda July, this year's Oscar winner ANOTHER ROUND by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg or Jim Jarmusch's episodic classic NIGHT ON EARTH are on the program. Advance ticket sales have already begun.

The open-air cinema season at the Old Police Headquarters kicked off with the LICHTER Summer Cinema, featuring selected highlights from this year's film program of the 14th LICHTER Film Festival. "That we have an eye for unusual places, showed already our locations of the past years. After the first two editions in the courtyard of the Cantate Hall, in the Gallus and on the Bockenheim campus, the fourth edition on the spectacular former Deutsche Bank site and the subsequent location on the terrace of Club le Panther, it is time for us, as in 2020, to move to the courtyard of the Old Police Headquarters Frankfurt, a cultural monument that is more than 100 years old," says Gregor Maria Schubert, who founded the Freiluftkino Frankfurt together with Johanna Süß and Daniel Brettschneider eight years ago. We are proud of 200 screenings, 180 films, 120 sold-out screenings and over 25,000 spectators that we have welcomed in six unique locations since 2014!.
