Very impressive first fiction film by Crystal Moselle. Wish I was able to see on big screen but was traveling when it was in US cinemas.
Exciting hybrid filmmaking employing docu techniques in a fiction narrative structure. I wonder how much was stolen footage -- meaning no permits. Cool score by ASKA.
Casting is great because each character is distinct and memorable. My personal fave happen to be Nina Moran who always steals the scene she's in.
