Whew! This is an astounding achievement in every aspect, with the score and the cinematography standing out in particular. There are some issues with pacing, but overall, it doesn’t really feel as long as it actually is, and it doesn’t shy away from the horrors of war for everyone involved.
I expect this to be a major player this upcoming awards season.
