the only thing my dad has given me of value is pain
this was one of my most anticipated films of 2019 and i can't believe i've only managed to watch it now. with such anticipation, there's always a chance of being disappointed and although i did love this film i wasn't blown away. there were certain parts of it that literally sawed my heart in half - if you've never acted out what you would say to your parent if you weren't so afraid then you're very lucky. i loved the sequence where Otis and Shy girl were pretending to play cricket, and i'm happy shia had those moments of childhood innocence amongst the chaos.
i have a lot of respect and appreciation for this movie and how personal it is, definitely one to rewatch.
