Nick Duffy’s review published on Letterboxd:
Annette is basically Lady Gaga’s Applause, if it also involved parents exploiting their puppet babies for money, long takes, evil Bo Burnham, musical oral sex, sea ghosts, breaking the forth wall, the Super Bowl, more long takes, and recreating the death of Natalie Wood. Like this movie is the definition of A LOT. Like nothing will ever prepare you for this film and that’s why I think I loved it!?!?! Anyways I need to rewatch it immediately.
