Move over “Teen Wolf”. Actually it’s quite safe. Okay, this was cheaper looking than I was expecting. And I wonder how they managed to rope in Glu Gulager? Reminded me of a two-bit horror-comedy (which doesn’t always gel) take of Jim Carrey’s ‘Once Bitten’, but set in a Bible Belt town during the 1950’s.

    Hellraiser: Hellseeker

Similar in atmospheric style and plot structure to the previous DTV sequel; “Inferno”. However I was a little more engaged by this hallucinogenic mind-trip and having Ashley Laurence returned was a nice touch. Be it only a small, but still important role. As I stood there, I just happened to time it with a death scene. It…

Other than “THE DEVONSVILLE TERROR” (which I didn’t particularly care for). I’m fairly new to Ulli Lommel’s work, but I gotta say the shoe-string budgeted “THE BOOGEYMAN” was rather a nice surprise. In spite of its stilted nature (especially the scenes involving John Carradine’s psychobabble), there’s something rather interesting, creative, visually enticing and uncanny around its process of a supernatural slasher. Maybe even a pioneer for the sub-genre, as what felt like a thematic blueprint, still with some slasher influences,…
