“Just because somebody chooses to leave, it doesn’t mean they didn’t want to be here with you. It means they had a hard time with things.”
No line of dialogue has ever meant so much to me especially at the time of my first viewing of this film. A week after my Grandma passed away about a year ago, I stumbled across this film not knowing much about it other than it’s small budget and Jim Cummings. I wasn’t expecting…
“Well, you know what I mean, just the little problems, they’re just so stupid.”
“Not if it’s happening to you.”
Despite how anxious this film makes me, there was a weird sense of comfort to it. Maybe it’s my nostalgia for the late 2000s. Or maybe I’m reminded of the severe anxiety of my adolescences, that I still deal with to this day, and in a weird way, this was cathartic.
