Andrei Lobo’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film serves as my introduction to the world of Alejandro Jodorowsky.
The Holy Mountain is a psychedelic experience unlike any other that I’ve personally seen. The direction, the vivid cinematography, and the writing helped keep me engaged the whole time, even if there were a few scenes with too much exposition.
There’s honestly a lot to unpack with this one, but I feel like I got the idea of what was going on (maybe…)
I can’t begin to tell you how many times I burst into laughter and how many times I went “wait, what?” due to a lot of what was going on. That ending was also an interesting one.
Overall, a very memorable film which I hope to revisit again at some point.
