Glenn Wilks’s review published on Letterboxd:
I wasn’t overly impressed with this one. A lot of the cgi wasn’t the best and whenever they had Tom Holland do a stunt it looked insanely fake and noticeably green screened or just an ugly cgi effect. As great of a villain as Mysterio is in the comics he didn’t really shine here. He was really kind of dull and it just felt like kind of a low effort performance from Jake Gyllenhaal. Fortunately though all the fun and quirky writing from the last film return here and I feel like the cinematography was slightly more interesting than the last one as well. I just felt like this movie didn’t have its own personality like the original and just felt somewhat empty and didn’t really go anywhere. But it was still a fun watch.
