Logan’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie is so much fun. It's a total crowd pleaser, but that is by no means a bad thing. It's a well made, entertaining movie that celebrates Rudy Ray Moore and blaxploitation movies. It's about a guy who's constantly told no by the world, that they don't want to see his art or hear his vision and yet he pushes forward and is able to find success despite being told otherwise by the big businesses.
And it's all told in a very entertaining, enjoyable way. Eddie Murphy is an actor I've liked in.... almost nothing, but here he gives far and away his best performance. He's so funny and has such a presence, but you also understand his character and he's able to add some more character to his performance.
It's just start to end a love letter of these movies and Rudy Ray Moore and his legacy, I'd really recommend it
