Gorgeous and riveting, Godzilla Minus One might just be one of the greatest Kaiju films ever made. An emotional core that explores post war trauma and repercussions in similar but different ways to the original. Godzilla is less of a scared beast and more of a monster in this one, which is usually less engaging to me, but the presence of it in this is otherworldly. The ground shakes and I feel it through every bone in…

I miss them. I miss them all. The people I have loved. The people I have laughed with. The people I have hated. All of those that I no longer know. Maybe it’s because some part of me misses the me that is lost. The carefree child, the edgy teen, the self assured adult. They all worked to make the current me, but they all are no longer me. Or maybe I just am sad to have…

While I don't think this franchise, thus far through watching it, has hit any enormous highs, it's all been consistently great. The amount of escalation in this hour is fantastic, and this might be the funniest one yet. I had to go back through multiple scenes just to rewatch the jokes. Maybe the greatest dub of all time. Everyone sounds like an idiot. Everyone is doing a strange accent. Everyone seems to be having the time of their lives.

When I watched the movie I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it, and the same goes for this. It's crass, but it's always relatively self aware, and it's also pretty fucking funny. Three episodes here, all pretty wildly different in direction and story beats, but all very entertaining. Love the aesthetic of this show and surprisingly, really love the two lead characters.

Maybe it is the fact that I am not an edgy teenager anymore, but being controversial and edgy for the sake of being edgy or as some convoluted attempt at humor isn't funny to me. And that is all this comedy special is. Dave Chappelle says something controversial or just really fucking shitty and people laugh. It isn't ever even a joke. Instead he just pretty much says "I don't like trans people" to thunderous applause.

    He jokes…

A film from 1896 really just made me laugh out loud from a skeleton appearing below a man as he tried to sit. We truly do live in a society.
