Spider-Man: Far from Home

Spider-Man: Far from Home ★★★★

Here we go. I love Spider-Man. As much as anyone else. I couldn't have been more excited for this. Not only because of Spider-Man or it being the first film to release after the events of Endgame. But Jake.

If I haven't made it clear already; Jake Gyllenhaal is my favourite actor working. I was ecstatic to see that he was going to take on a role such as this one in a huge blockbuster superhero movie. He deserved this.

He deserved the wide acclaim on a global scale in one of the biggest franchies in the world. And he crushes it in this. Perfectly adapting this character and defining this role with a very solid performance.

It's no surprise either but Tom Holland is great again. He nails this role in each of his appearances. I loved him in this. I loved returning to seeing him interact much more with his classmates. It was very enjoyable.

It was a great breath of fresh air with the European setting too. We've always seen Spider-Man swing through the streets of New York, or America mostly. Never in another country if I'm not mistaken.

I found the idea of a European Holiday being the setting of sorts for this film to be a really bright idea. It made the film that much more colourful and beautiful as alot of the previous films in this franchise.

With all that being said; it's not a perfect film. There are certain things that I didn't like too much. But nothing that detracted from my experience on a first viewing all that much either.

It needs to be said too: stay for the post-credits. There are two of them. That's all I'm going to say. I really enjoyed this film alot. Spider-Man is not the next Iron Man. Because he is, and always will be the first Spider-Man. As it should be. Definitely see this one.
