dani phosgene’s review published on Letterboxd:
Koreeda strikes again with a profound, gentle and devastating look at a Japanese family (or what seems to look a like a family in a traditional way). it's about family in its core, people can be a family not only because of their blood relation, and blood relation doesn't mean that a particular person is your family if they care more about themselves than about you. people form a family out of love, when people share each other's traumas, having understanding of what it feels like to be alone for whatever reason, true family is a safe place, it's a person who will caress you in the time of need and vice versa.
P.S. Hope you will like the film, Ella💚
