I normally don’t log/review films before they come out, but I have to make an exception for this one.

I can’t believe the fucking evilness within Hollywood. I mean sure I’m not surprised, but I’m still angry and disgusted regardless. Like the fact they fired Melissa Barrena, the main character of this new Scream trilogy for sating she’s against genocide and yet people like Noah Zionistnap who keeps saying stuff “Zionist is sexy” and disgusting shit like that can keep…

TW: brief mention of depression and suicide

Okay.. can I get a little personal with this entry of the eras tour? Yeah, might as well.

So I have been a fan of Taylor Swift since the original release of 1989 (I said original release because we got the re recording of it coming out in 2 weeks!) and pretty much my life has changed for the better within the last 8 years or so of being a fan of her…

I was kinda disappointed that this wasn’t actually about a man befriending a turtle for 80 mins.

Still a solid film regardless, and I will say that’s a pretty good way to close off my ghibli binge before The Boy and Heron comes out next week (can’t believe it)! It was a lot of fun to revisit many of their great gems (and not fun to revisit their worst works as well) and being reminded how an amazing of a studio they are most of the time. Now I need a break from doing these big binges for some time.

I mean I definitely like some weird, horny, and unconventional thrillers, but I don’t think I totally vibed with this one chief. Sorry :(.

If I had a nickel for everytime a Ghibli film threw a shocking twist that makes you re think about a romance that was established in the film, I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

For reals, this is truly one of the best films this studio has produced. Beautiful, human, authentic, and personal that I couldn’t help but get invested by it all. Highly recommend if you haven’t seen it yet.

    Whiplash

A cautionary tale about how far can one go into persuading their dreams and aspirations, and how does their ends can justify their means. Both Andrew and Fletcher both have their own goals and desires that collide within one another once they’re both in the same ballpark and ultimately leads into something destructive and gut ranching. Making us the viewer make us question our ways and steps to achieve our dreams and how those actions we choose can make us think about the picture outside of our own world. Incredible stuff.
