The beginning of Pacino's epic early/mid 70s run. A legend being born. A story set around Sherman Square aka Needle Park on the Upper West Side of
Manhattan. Screenplay by one of, if not thee, best pure writers of the era, Joan Didion, and her husband John Gregory Dunne. A three way love story between man, woman, and heroin set on the gritty and once dangerous streets of New York City. Bonus points for Pacino's haircut and stylish Navy surplus jacket.

Network 1976
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore. Peter Finch plays an out-of-his-mind outrageous newscaster who's about to be fired so he lets loose on camera and the world loves it. It changes his career and the face of the network leading to a new type of news. But nothing lasts forever and nothing stays the same. Faye Dunaway shines as a stunningly beautiful and ice-cold-hearted executive who cares more about ratings than any other aspect…

Serpico 1973
1971-1975 Pacino is like Michael Jordan winning 6 championships in the 6 seasons in a row that he played in the NBA (minus the break he took to play minor league baseball) in the '90s. At the top of his game. No one better. His role in Serpico was powerful enough to make me actually care for and sympathize with a cop. Pacino is cool and tough and his droll sense of humor really shines in this one. He pretty…

Rambo: First Blood Part II 1985
I was so hyped after watching the first First Blood that I needed more Rambo. Unfortunately, this was more like a Disneyland ride version, which would be an amazing ride, but doesn't make for the best movie. Still has the undertones of exposing the US government for its greed and utter disregard for any human life other than their own. So that part I enjoyed. Lots of explosions and killing. Some of the sets/scenery definitely looked like they belonged more in an amusement park than a high budget feature film. Don't think I'll be watching number 3.
