The one thing I found to be lacking in 2015 was direction in films. There were great performances, soundtracks and editing, but the directing was just not as good as it could have been.
There are exceptions to this (Sicario, The Revenenant, Bone Tomahawk), but there should have been more. This is that "more" I was waiting for.
This is a masterpiece. Do not be afraid to take the drive to see this. It is in my top 3 of 2015.
