Jordan Peele achieves a unique, suspenseful, and mysterious portrayal of an alien that isn't designed after a Roman, a Xenomorph, or is tentacle laden in his third feature, Nope. There is something to be said about the unsatisfactory ending, like how it makes the rest of the movie give off a strong "all talk no action" impression that will prevent me from getting multiple viewings from it. Like his previous two movies, once you know the mystery, there isn't a whole lot past nice expensive cinematography keeping you engaged. The lead, Daniel Kaluuya, delivers a straight faced performance the entire time with no personality. There's no memorable scenes either leading up to the climax, which, in a two hour plus movie, is a knock. Don't get me wrong. The movie is absolutely worth a watch, the ride is worth it. Just don't expect to be blown away by the time the credits are rolling.
