2021’s 71st movie • 100/100
This is from 1952. Comedy was different, acting was different, movies were different, life was different. Many musicals and comedies from that time aged like old milk in the middle of the desert. Still, Singin’ In The Rain is entertainment at its best. This movie right here made me have good laughs and fun – something I wasn’t expecting at all, considering that I know the story because I’ve seen the play at Broadway and that most movies from that time are not even close to being funny for us in the 21st century.
Everything about this movie is iconic. From the scenes to the songs, from the cinematography to the editing, from the direction to the plot itself... everything is impeccable and there is nothing I would change about it. This is pure gold.
