Luis R. Alcazar’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film is probably one of the best films of 2016 so far. For awhile now, we all have to sit through films with huge amounts of green screen, or CGI, or superhero movies- not that any of those are bad, but once in a while, you would kind of get tired of it and want more of a film variety. This film is it. This is the kind of movie that reminds you of why we all love movies so much and it kind of felt like a "gift" because Hollywood rarely makes these kinds of movies anymore and it's a joy to watch. It's not really your typical buddy cop movie but at the same time it has the same characteristics of one from the 80's. It has so many memorable lines that are sewed onto my brain, it's amazing. Shane Black did a fantastic job making this movie, both Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling make an interesting, dynamic and hilarious duo together and it's just laugh out loud funny. It's brilliantly written as it is directed, the scenes are interesting and keep your attention and throughout you will have nothing but pure joy.
