  • The Initiation

    The Initiation 1984

    John

    ★★★ Watched by John 05 Feb 2023

A typical 80s slasher film, not a bad film but a routine 80s horror film similar to a lot of horror films in the 80s but it was a comfortable watch because I like these films and it's interesting seeing one that gets forgotten about. I liked how the kills were mostly at a mall and the mix of slasher, and psychological whodunit mystery film kept me invested. The cast of sorority characters had some fun personalities and the final twist reveal was surprising and unexpected that makes this predictable horror film more memorable

    Richard

    ★★★★ Watched by Richard 04 Feb 2023

Puss in Boots (2011) found dead in a ditch.

The animation is just perfect! So vibrant, expressive and full of life. Dreamworks have hit a groove with this style and I hope they continue using it. The characters were great, and it had possibly the scariest villain I've seen in not just animated films... but films full stop. I loved the balance of humour and emotions and there were some great, thoughtful scenes to prove that.

There's just so much to love about it!

In Search of Darkness: Part III 2022

    John

    ★★★★★ Watched by John 04 Feb 2023

It's amazing that this is the third one of these documentaries that's on a long time but it still isn't boring. More films to add to my watch list and this one is extra good because it shown me more obscure, cult films that I can explore and look for. The talking heads are interesting with lots of horror experts, directors and actors excitedly talking about the films.

  • Dirty Dancing

    Dirty Dancing 1987

    Madi

    ★★★★ Watched by Madi 04 Feb 2023

I went in expecting a silly and goofy dance movie a lá Footloose, and what I got was a very good dance movie with surprisingly hard hitting topics, such as the need for abortion rights and discussion of class differences, along with a great soundtrack and great performances by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze. Deservedly an 80’s classic!!

I thought this was pretty good, it looks amazing, the look of the futuristic world is neat and has some good scifi concepts about memory and artificial intelligence, war and consumerism. It doesn't go into too much detail turning into a badass action film in the last 30 minutes which I didn't mind because it looked cool and was exciting and well done.

  • The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker

    The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker 2023

    John

    ★★ Watched by John 29 Jan 2023

Most of this documentary was pretty bland when it was about exploiting and searching for the guy to cash in from. It was a bizarre true life story that had its moments as it went deeper into the story but the first half wasn't that interesting and its shocking the worrying things that were ignored until it was too late.

  • The Sentinel

    The Sentinel 2006

    John

    ★★ Watched by John 01 Feb 2023 3

An average and predictable conspiracy plot to kill the president story. This was not well directed with some dodgy editing and it was slow and boring, nothing of interest happens and there was nothing for me to invest in. The film was just moving along but it felt like it was going nowhere and it got worse as it went on. Only Micheal Douglas and Keifer sutherland are the good aspects to this film. Everything else Is forgettable.
